
Robert Simon practices in the areas of civil appeals, bankruptcy, business litigation, and real estate. His appellate practice includes appeals from both bankruptcy and civil district courts. Mr. Simon's bankruptcy practice includes a broad range of debtor and creditor representation in cases under Chapter 11 and Chapter 7. His bankruptcy practice incorporates litigation of cash collateral issues, the automatic stay, discharge and dischargeability, and voidable transfer actions. Mr. Simon also represents insolvent businesses in informal workouts with their creditors.
Mr. Simon has successfully represented commercial creditors and debtors in multimillion-dollar bankruptcy proceedings and related contract and tort claims brought by or against clients. He has lectured on bankruptcy appellate issues, exemptions, and the defense of voidable transfer actions.
Mr. Simon joined Barlow Garsek & Simon, LLP in 2004. Prior to becoming a partner at the Firm, Mr. Simon was a partner at Simon & Simon, LLP and served as a briefing attorney to the Honorable John Ovard on the Texas Court of Appeals for the Fifth District of Texas.
