There has been enormous speculation surrounding Terrelle Pryor’s request to be placed into the NFL supplemental draft.  To be a participant in the supplement draft, Pryor would have to be ineligible to compete at Ohio State University (“OSU”).  By all accounts and reports, Pryor has worked industriously to make sure it is well known that he is not welcome to compete at OSU this fall.  Yesterday, the NFL ruled Pryor would be eligible for the supplemental draft that will take place shortly.  The twist in this circumstance came when NFL Commissioner Roger Goddell chose to enforce the NCAA’s punishment of Pryor and suspended Pryor from practicing or playing in the first five games of the NFL season.  The suspension provided to Pryor was the same as the suspension provided by the NCAA relating to Pryor’s participation in the tattoo fiasco at OSU.  Howard Wasserman of the Sports Law Blog provides additional analysis on the issues.
