Robert G. Marshall of Virginia has proposed a law that would require coaches, athletics directors, and directors of private sports organizations and teams of public and private schools (including institutions of higher learning) in the Commonwealth of Virginia to report child abuse to Virginia authorities.  House Bill 4 adds these professionals to a longer list of professionals that are required to report child abuse and neglect to the proper authorities.
