Henry Simon is a nationally recognized bankruptcy practitioner who is certified in business bankruptcy law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.  He has been recognized for many years in The Best Lawyers in America and has been selected by Texas Monthly Magazine as a Texas Super Lawyer.

Mr. Simon’s bankruptcy practice includes representation of significant constituencies in Chapter 11 reorganization cases.  Mr. Simon has over 40 years of experience in business law, including more than 30 years of experience in the negotiation of debt-restructuring workouts. 

He has successfully represented in multimillion-dollar bankruptcy actions on behalf of commercial entities, including Furr’s, Inc. and Placid Oil Company, Inc., among others.  In the Chapter 11 reorganization of Placid Oil Company, Inc., Mr. Simon successfully restructured $825 million in secured debt and $1.2 billion aggregate debt through a five-year plan.  In addition, Mr. Simon represented two classes of bond holders in the Chapter 11 bankruptcy of international commercial airline carrier Braniff International Airways, successfully negotiating the assumption of bond obligations by sister airlines which resulted in payment of 100 cents on the dollar for his bondholder clients.
